QUANTITATIVE METHOD REFLECTIVE JOURNAL (Ng Choon Hung, 0310205)

            Quantitative method is part of my subjects in this semester. Quantitative method is one of my favourite subjects. In this semester, we are supposed to form a group of 4. This is because we were given a group assignment. In this group assignment, we were given 2 questions to complete. While we were working together, we encountered some problems as in we don’t know which formula to apply or how to calculate the equation using a calculator. But although we have problems, we have lecture notes to help us solve some problems. We not only have lecture notes but we also have lecture recap about some topics that we are not clear about. We are considered lucky that we have lecture recap for us to see again about a topic that we don’t know well. In my group, we separate the questions to all the 4 of us. This is to ensure that everyone has participated in the assignment. We all did the assignment together. I was doing question 1, part A. Any problem that we occur, we would discuss with each other about the question. Besides that, i have learned about excel while doing my question. In question 1 part A, all the answers could be obtained by doing the Microsoft excel. In the Microsoft excel, i used the data analysis to find mean, median, mode and standard deviation. Not only that but I could also find the inter quartile range which is third quartile minus the first quartile. Furthermore, I learned how to find the coefficient of variation which is standard deviation divide the mean. Most of the equation needs the mean and standard deviation of the data. All the information is in the table from the data analysis. The part that we have the most problems is question 1 part B. This is because we took a large amount of time figuring out how to get the summary output. But at the end, we found it through excel. Question 2 is not difficult for us. We have done it using the probability formula and some common sense. There are many things to do in the assignment with insufficient time because we have started it late. This is because there are many more assignments given to us in the other subject where all of us are in different group. Overall, my group have given some of their time to complete this assignment. We put in a lot of effort in order to complete this assignment as much as we could. Therefore, my group have been trying their best to complete the work as fast as possible. However, i have gained a lot of knowledge by doing this assignment as in how to use Microsoft excel, which formula to apply in order to get the answer. With this knowledge, I could apply it in the future when i am working in a company.
